This panel explores and reassesses the social and artistic legacy of Luis Valdez and El Teatro Campesino, beginning with the Actos and his first play The Shrunken Head of Pancho Villa through to the first Mexican production of Zoot Suit at La Compania Nacional Teatro de Mexico.

I am known as "The Melodramatic Mexican" by my students and friends, so that's one of my passions: my Mexican/Chicana/o heritage.
