Civic Outlaws in the Modernist Avant-Garde: Figuring [Out] Queerness Ahead of its Time

In figuring out and reconfiguring the queerness of Modernist work ahead of its time, this panel will address the question of aethetics and queer temporality. We will argue that queer Modernist figures (and figurations) move in and out of shifting temporal landscapes, ultimately displacing a sense of linear time through figuring outside of it from both historical and presentist perspectives.
