Suzanne Burgoyne

Suzanne Burgoyne, PhD, is Curators' Distinguished Teaching Professor of Theatre, as well as Director, Center for Applied Theatre and Drama Research, University of Missouri. A recipient of Fulbright and Kellogg National fellowships, as well as a Carnegie Scholar (Scholarship of Teaching and Learning), she was named Outstanding Teacher 2003 by The Association for Theatre in Higher Education. Since 2003, she has led the Mizzou Interactive Theatre Troupe, which gives diversity performances on and off campus. Since 2013, she has taught Creativity for the Non-Arts Major for the honors college; for the past 3 years she has has been collaborating with a bioengineering professor to teach creativity to his capstone students; pilot results have been highly promising, and the team has received 2 Mizzou Advantage grants. Suzanne has published 4 books, numerous articles, and has edited a volume on theatre and creativity for Springer (publication forthcoming this summer).
